Remember this when recording

In Illinois (where PSG is taking place this year), it is a felony to capture the audio or video of someone without their explicit consent. You can find a guide to recording in the United States on a state-by-state basis at: http://www.rcfp.org/taping/states.html.

It’s not doom and gloom. With proper information you can keep out of accidental trouble. Anyone that is part of the PPP that needs consent forms can use these forms.

Just had a thought — perhaps we of PPP and/or PNC can get the organizers of these kinds of events to set aside a “Media Room” or area, with a notice that within that place interviews are being recorded and that anyone who does not wish their voices or appearance (face, costume, etc.) to be recorded, should not enter.

Here you go Ananta, it’s already been set aside:

A Media Camp has been set aside for us at PSG. Specifics are still pending but I would think that the PSG organizers would have such a tent set aside for media already.
